THE UK's largest cold storage site is experiencing increased demand for its services since opening a new £7 million extension less than a month ago.
Despite the economic downturn, Boroughbridge-based Reed Boardall Group reports that its new cold store extension, which was opened ahead of schedule at the beginning of June, is almost full.

Now in its 16th year of operation, Reed Boardall provides a total of 112,000 pallet spaces on a single site.

Group managing director Keith Boardall said: “We are firm believers that you cannot cut corners in the frozen food industry, so we always invest to keep every aspect of our business up to date.

“We also aim to have enough cold storage and transport capacity to meet demand.

“In anticipation of increased demand we were able to complete our new cold storage facility ahead of schedule. The new store, which holds 22,000 pallets, is already over two-thirds full.”
