From: Rachel Bailey, The Big Picnic Event Organiser, Harrogate.
AS the woman man enough to organise last weekend’s Big Picnic in Valley Gardens, I wondered if you could please pass on my sincere thanks to the following organisations and people:

The Rotary Club of Harrogate, Harrogate Lions and Procter & Gamble without whom the event would simply not be possible. These organisations have provided help and support to me all the way along and turned out in force on Sunday to marshal the event – which they did brilliantly!

My husband David and baby son William (the inspiration behind the event!) for endless help and love.

The Harrogate Advertiser team for supporting The Big Picnic and helping us to tell Harrogate families about it.

Wg Cdr Wilkinson, Hospital Friends and Volunteers, Nutty Chefs! MG owners club, Chippindale Foods, Harrogate Borough Council, Asda, Harrogate Festival.

And importantly everyone who came along on Sunday. We may not have ‘smashed’ the record (yet!) but we did have 727 people in Yorkshire’s biggest ever egg and spoon race. Thousands attended the event and we raised £2,533 for the Woodlands Children’s Ward. A Very Big Thank You To All!
